Sitting down with Katy, we got the chance to find out more about the lady behind this brilliant blog…
How did Apartment Apothecary come about?
I have always been obsessed with interiors; I remember re-decorating my bedroom every year when I was a teenager. I’m constantly planning and making changes to my own home and I love helping others to do the same. I discovered Pinterest a couple of years ago, which led me to the world of blogging and I very quickly decided that I had to have my own.
What do you enjoy most about blogging?
I have loved rediscovering crafts, learning to sew, meeting new people and being inspired by other bloggers. I have brought back to life a creative side to myself that I haven’t explored since childhood. I also love the fact that I spend my days pouring over beautiful interiors and homewares!
What inspires you to write?
I get inspiration from all sorts of places: magazines, Pinterest, other blogs, galleries, my friends’ homes. I’m also on a constant quest to improve my own home so my own DIY projects and room makeovers are a constant source of inspiration for my blog.
Share with us your top three book-marked blogs…

What are your most coveted Laura Ashley pieces?
Perranporth Glass Pendant | Elgin Side Table | Darwin Chair | Set of 2 Oval Kubu Baskets
The Darwin chair has been on my wish list for about seven years since I saw it in store. It would be perfect for my sitting room and I love the mid-century vibe of the arms. I really like the Elgin side table’s simple shape and the fact I could add my own touch to it. As are the ranges dining chairs, I would love to paint them in one of Laura Ashley’s furniture paints.
I love the fresh feel and shape of the Perranporth glass pendant lamp and love the wooden finnial top, which adds a modern touch. Finally, the Oval Kubu baskets as I am obsessed with baskets and they are such a handy thing to have in each room to add an extra bit of storage!
