Admit it we all look for that one staple piece that we can wear again and again changing the look and feel when we have different occasions and it means you don’t need to break the bank to look good. Lucky for us though Emma from The Style Splash made a jumpsuit her piece of the season and shows us how to take the style from day to night…
The festive season is fast approaching and that means lots of parties and after work drinks. But let’s face it finding an outfit to take you from office to night out can pose a challenge. This is where the jumpsuit comes to the rescue. It’s such a versatile item that can be styled casually or dressed up for a glamourous evening look.
Daytime look
This gorgeous navy starburst print jumpsuit is perfect for that day to night transition. I teamed it with a navy boiled wool jacket for an office-appropriate look. The jacket is really soft and feels like a cardigan while looking like a biker jacket. You could certainly keep it on indoors when it gets chilly. In fact this entire outfit is incredibly comfortable – the stretch jersey fabric of the jumpsuit makes it feel as comfy as pyjamas, yet it still looks so stylish. I have a long torso so I have struggled with jumpsuits in the past but this one fits perfectly. The crossover V-neck and sleeve length are very flattering, exposing just the right amount of skin. I added a red bag, bracelet and shoes with a low heel for a splash of colour.
For a weekend casual look, I’d wear the jumpsuit with classic white tennis shoes or silver trainers and a satin bomber jacket. It would be the perfect item to take on a weekend away as the styling options are plentiful. Navy goes with everything so you can either add bright accessories or keep the colour palette neutral. I know jumpsuits can sometimes present problems with trips to the bathroom, but this one is very easy to get on and off. It has a zip at the back, which is easy to reach and doesn’t result in a dislocated shoulder when trying to undo it!
Evening look
For my evening look, I swapped the navy jacket for faux fur and added some bling. I treat metallics as neutrals because they go with everything, and the silver sandals, clutch bag and jewellery compliment the white starburst print. Rarely have I felt so good in an outfit and so comfortable at the same time. It definitely won’t restrict my dance moves at the office Christmas party! After wanting a jumpsuit for ages, I’ve finally found the perfect one. It was worth the wait!
