Dainty florals on Dainty Dress Diaries... read more
With Spring fast approaching but the air still has that cool breeze to it, mastering the transitional style is always tricky but with the help of the lovely Catherine from Dainty Dress Diaries you’ll have no problem what so ever…
Spring is one of my favourite times of the year. I love seeing the new shoots of daffodils and snowdrops coming up in the garden, the brighter evenings starting to creep in and the excitement that Winter is finally over. I can happily say I am not a Winter person and I love seeing new outfits arrive in brighter colours to lift my mood. Today I have the perfect spring outfit to share with you so if you’re looking for something to freshen the wardrobe with a vintage feel then I think you will love what I have picked.
As it is still quite cold in Spring I have picked an outfit from the Vintage Romance collection that is both pretty and practical. It will still keep you warm and cosy on the fresh mornings but the colours and textures are brighter and the perfect pieces to refresh your wardrobe for Spring. Nothing beats the feeling of putting on a fresh new outfit.
I am a lover of florals. Whether it’s floral wallpaper, floral clothes or floral accessories I just can’t get enough of them. I fell in love with the florals in the Vintage Romance collection as they are so ditsy and dainty. Floral prints never go out of fashion. I picked the floral top with the frill sleeve and teamed it with the green cord pinafore dress and I love the contrast of colours against each other. I popped in a hint of pink with the textured scarf. I love the romantic feel of the frill on the sleeve and the texture of the cord pinafore and pink scarf together. If you’re not a fan of the pinafore then you could team the floral top with a pair of the bright blue straight leg jeans instead.
I know Easter might be still a while away but what I love about this outfit is that it’s timeless so you would get all seasons out of this outfit and it would be perfect for Easter or afternoon tea with the girls. I love Spring time as I kind of feel like I have been in hibernation all Winter and Spring gets me out of the house more with the brighter evenings and longer days. Spring gives me a new lease of life, I have more energy and I love that feeling when you come home from work and it is still bright. Nothing beats sitting out after work in the garden with a cup of tea. Even though it is still cold it’s so nice to get out for a walk in the park after work and see all the new flowers and the change in the season.
It’s all in the details! I teamed my outfit with the floral cross body bag in vintage floral print. This is the perfect size for my adventures on my day off from work as it’s big enough to fit my phone, purse, keys and a lippy. This is a classic and it is a piece I will have in my bag collection forever as it is just so timeless. I love that it matches my floral top too. Scarves are a staple for me in Spring as they keep the chill of the fresh mornings away but give a pop of colour to an outfit to brighten it up. This pink one gives both colour and texture and the pop of pink around my neck brightens my complexion.
What is your favourite thing about Spring and what pieces will you be coveting to freshen up your wardrobe? I hope you enjoyed my outift post today and don’t foget to pop over to my blog daintydressdiaries.com for more chats.
