Add a little light to your bedroom to give it that much needed update... read more
Sometimes when updating our interiors we don’t want to commit to too many changes as we don’t know how long we will be in a space for. Instead, it’s a safer and more sensible option to add a few home accessories instead to give the room a nice little lift. For the lovely Esther from Inside Out & About all it took was a Zaria light pendant to really transform her bedroom into a place she was proud of…
It’s amazing how something as simple as a light fixture can add the ideal finishing touch to a room.
I have a real ‘thing’ about our bedroom being a haven. A place of peace. A place of calm. A place of serenity. One that we love and enjoy being in. A place to light a candle and breathe a sigh of relief at the end of a busy day, and ignore the mayhem elsewhere.
We recently redecorated our bedroom as it was looking tired, shabby and cluttered. We painted the whole room white and had a really good clear out, and as a result our bedroom feels so much fresher and lighter. If there is one thing I have learnt about decorating; it is to take things slowly. You cannot rush creating a room that you love. I like to take one thing at a time – buy one thing, welcome it into the room, and go from there.
I’m sure our bedroom space will develop over time – I would love some cushions, and a botanical print perhaps, but for now, we love it. We could not make up our minds about a light fitting, but as soon as we saw the Laura Ashley Zaria pendant, we knew it would pull everything together perfectly. We loved how it felt modern, yet timeless, and contemporary yet classic. It is just so beautiful.
We’re not sure how long we’re going to be staying in our current house, but when we do move, I’ll definitely be taking my Zaria light fitting with me because it is so versatile. It would look at home in an entrance hall, over a dining room table, in a cosy nook or in a bedroom – just like ours.
