It’s time to celebrate street style, new season collections and great British fashion at London Fashion Week, which runs from the 14th to the 18th of September. Whether you’re looking for key hero pieces to invest in for the season ahead or heading to the city for shows, our guest writer Sinead from Love Style Mindfulness shares her favourite must-have items to wear at London’s biggest event.
With London Fashion Week just around the corner it’s time to start thinking about what to wear. And if you’re not going then it’s the time to be watching out for the new season hit list! I know that across the catwalks they will be showing SS18, but it’s over on the streets that the Autumn trends will start to emerge and the key pieces for the season will become clear. I always see LFW street style as a good indication on how popular something will be in the coming season.
So with this in mind I thought I would share with you guys an outfit I put together based on what I think is not only a wardrobe staple that will stand the test of time, but also something is growing in popularity both in style and in print: The Prince of Wales printed blazer.
KEY PIECES FOR LONDON FASHION WEEK
I picked up this Check Wool Blazer from Laura Ashley in anticipation of LFW street style as not only is it the perfect layer for this time of year, it’s also a great piece for adding the finishing touch to an outfit, or creating the main focus altogether. I love the thick wool material that makes it feel so luxurious, so if you’re thinking of investing then now is 100% the time!
I wore it here with my Gucci belt to make a statement, and Pink Scoop Cable Knit Jumper, creating a look based around the blazer as the star of the show. I always think it’s important at fashion week to not go overboard into the realm of costume when you’ve got so many statement pieces on that all fight for attention. I love this super simple outfit with a few statement accessories that rather than stealing the jackets attention, compliment it perfectly. What do you think?
I would also wear this with some chunky biker boots and a silky slip or a dainty summer dress if we get any last-minute sunshine (these crazy things do happen sometimes guys!) The pink knitted jumper is a brilliant addition for when the days get cooler — and is perfect layered under the blazer.
