We reveal our top chocolate spot in the spirit of UK Chocolate Week
Fearing a crowd surge, we’ve been keeping this chocolatier under our hat for some while now. In the spirit of UK Chocolate Week we’re revealing the charms of Cocomaya, our latest stop for dreamy cocoa creations.
Nestled amongst the charming artisans and eateries of Connaught Village (near Marble Arch) is Cocomaya’s cocoa kitchen, chocolate shop and bakery. Using ‘the rarest cocoa beans in the world’, each chocolate is individually handmade on site, with complete precision (note the gold edible leaf of ‘Wild Bolivian Cocoa Bean’ choccies below). Other terrifically orchestrated flavours include wild strawberry & pink pepper, earl grey, sea salted caramel, Sicilian lemon and bramley apple. Imagine what fun we had when they recently invited us to have a little taster!
Prepare to be blown away by ‘chocolate artistry’ in the form of chocolate flowers, medallions, lady birds, a princess slipper and the jaw dropping spherical chocolate geode (made specifically for the London Design Festival last month – even the blue crystal centre is edible sugar)!
The giant chocolate geode!
Fit for a princess? A chocolate slipper.
Cocomaya’s whimsical setting makes for a cosy chocolate grotto, one that you could while away time chatting to friends at their long rustic table or in their charming wooden clad bakery next door. The Bakery (cafe) serves up fresh ground coffee with a banquet of Vienna-style pastries, handmade cakes, sandwiches and yummies to choose from. The chocolatier itself can also be hired for afternoon teas, kids parties or chocolate decorating fun (upon request).
