You can never have too many Christmas garlands... read more
The Christmas season is in full swing and the majority of us have our decorations in place. From trees to candles, baubles to garlands. We’ve asked Sally from Getting Stuff Done In Heels to show us how she has styled her wreaths and garlands in her home and we know she won’t fail to impress…
I love this time of year! It’s time to start making everything festive, and welcoming, twinkly lights are a great place to start!
I adore the Lit Winter Wreath, it’s almost too good to hang outside! It looks really real, it fooled my Mum and she has a radar for a faux wreath! The battery pack holds 3AA batteries which are hidden away underneath, and there’s a hanging ribbon to save you from faffing about trying to find one to hang it up! The foliage is all so well placed and balanced (sounds like I know what I am talking about, I really don’t, it’s just that it ‘looks right’ you know?) And I love that it has eucalyptus in it.
If you decide to hang it outside, it will look beautiful and is a real focal point when your guests arrive. The batteries last ages by the way.
I had a great time deciding where to put mine. It looks lovely as a base to the Curved Glass and Metal Hurricane Lamp, too.
If you know me, you’ll know I love laying the table for a special menu, and what could be more special than Christmas lunch? I have so much fun styling the table only to have to move everything when lunch arrives haha! The Beaded Garland is perfect for your table, as it hardly takes up any room, and adds a festive twinkle to your place settings. (I placed it longways down the table and then for a change, wrapped it round the bottom of the Hurricane Lamp, and also around the bottom of my Marina lamp (which I have been dying to fill with baubles since I got it! Hurrah!)
Obviously though, it would look lovely being used as a proper garland along your mantle piece!
I love to dress the chimney breast where the cooker is, and decided to order the Bulb String Lights – I was worried they might be a bit ‘out-doorsy’ but they are GORGEOUS! Each bulb contains its very own mini string of lights so they really twinkle – and the best bit is, they are battery! No more trailing wires! I must confess to faffing around with them, here are some pictures.
But I settled on Plan A of having them in the kitchen! The mouse who lives in the ladle, highly approves heehee.
And last, but by no means least, of my little sparkly round up, the Clear Beaded Lit Wreath is a little gem. Less is more, the pictures really don’t do it justice. If you are after a subtle bit of sparkle, this one is for you. I think she looks fabulous against a dark background, but I also quite liked her on the back of The Guest of Honour’s chair!
She also looks very at home hanging on the bedstead – grown up bedrooms can often be forgotten can’t they (my three always liked to decorate their rooms when they were little – with EVERYTHING and the kitchen sink haha – I’d have to shut my eyes and cross my fingers and agree ‘yes it looks PERFECT’ when obvs I was itching to sort it all out! But it was perfect to the, so who was I to argue).
Anyway! There we are! I’d love to know how you use your Christmas lights – Merry Christmas! Lots of love Sally xx
